This is my DIY hot wire foam cutter. I built it out of wooden booms and an acoustic guitar string. I put a bit of tension on the guitar string and fastened it using an alligator clip and screws. The hot wire foam cutter is connected to my DIY bench power supply that my dad and I made out of an old PC power supply. The hot wire foam cutter works great and cuts through foam really easily. It can make complex shapes out of foam and even an airfoil in a wing.

Slope Soaring Wing - Flitetest Mini Arrow
This is my Flitetest Mini Arrow. I made it a slope soaring wing for now, and in the future I will mount a 2300kv motor on it and maybe FPV. I built it up using white foam from Dollarama and I used the plans from the Flitetest website.

Race Quad - GoPro Mount
I used to mount the GoPro to the top plate of my miniquad. This made the GoPro more exposed and when the quad flips over and crashes, there is a greater chance that the GoPro will break. I made a new GoPro mount out of aluminum attached to the bottom plate so that the GoPro sits lower, is more forward, and so that I can mount an FPV CCD camera to the miniquad in the future.
Race Quad - New Motor Mounts
I crashed my miniquad and I broke the fiberglass motor mounts, so I decided to make my own motor mounts out of aluminum. They turned out to be very strong, and do not bend like the old ones when I tighten them up.

DIY Race Quad - FT VersaCopter
This is my DIY race quad. The frame is a 280 size Flitetest VersaCopter kit, and I used their Power Pack E. The motors are Emax 2204 2300kv and the speed controllers are BL Heli 12a. I am currently using a 3s 1300mah battery, but in the future I will upgrade to a 4s. The quad weighs in at about 465 grams without the battery and GoPro, and about 639 grams with the battery and GoPro. I currently do not have an FPV setup on this quad, but in the next month or so, I will. For the flight controller I am using the Naze 32 Acro version rev 6. I had a lot of problems in the beginning, but after some troubleshooting, I got them sorted out. I found that this flight controller can do so much more than the one I used on my old quad. The quad also feels very dialed in and does exactly what I expect it to with the new flight controller. I am also planning to do alot with this quad in the future and I will be uploading aerial video, pictures, and racing.

FPV RC Transmitter
This is my cheap Hobbyking radio with an antenna mod. I attached the FPV monitor and receiver to the radio with a GoPro mount. I wanted a system that I could carry around easily, instead of using a tripod. This made flying my S500 quadcopter much more convenient.

This is my Hobbyking S500 quadcopter. I now put FPV and LED strips on it for night flying. The quad flies great and has a ton of power.

RC Transmitter Antenna Upgrade
This is how you can upgrade the antenna on your stock RC transmitter. For this project you will need an old wifi router. After the upgrade, you can use any 2.4ghz compatible antenna and easily increase your transmitter range. In the future, I will add a 2w signal booster on mine and maybe even a patch antenna for long range FPV.
